Making and Music

From the concert hall to the canvas, SMPH students, faculty, and staff are making, playing, and creating — together.

Storytelling

Stories have always been how we make sense of what it means to be human — in medicine, they’re how we build trust, find meaning, and care better together.

The Written Word

Words carry the weight of medicine — grief, wonder, connection, and care. Here’s where the SMPH community puts that into writing.

Meet Our Board

CHASM’s Board of Directors is a cross-disciplinary group of UW faculty united by a shared belief that the arts and humanities make medicine better. Together, we teach, research, and champion humanistic practice across SMPH — and we’re always looking to grow the community. If you’re doing work in the medical humanities or want to start, we’d love to hear from you.
